The 2012/2013 Shire ADHD Scholarships were announced last week. We are busy working to find coaches for these deserving students so they can get started on building new habits over the summer. Congratulations to these students!
Meanwhile, we’ve been hearing from the recipients of this year’s scholarship and thought that nothing speaks to the value of ADHD coaching as well as a student who has been through it.
“Winning the Shire scholarship not only provided help with tuition, it provided coaching sessions to help me with my ADHD. Edge Foundation paired me with a coach who was a great fit for me.
“My coach worked with me on setting priorities and helped me stay focused when my schedule became too hectic. I’ve dealt with ADHD for years, but never really felt prepared for each day until I began the coaching sessions offered by Shire through Edge Foundation.
I now have a better understanding of myself and my brain and what it takes me to work efficiently and effectively, and I can more clearly concentrate on one task at a time to get my work completed without being stressed about the deadline. Without these coaching sessions, I wouldn’t have been as successful in my classes or as aware of what I need to do to remain on top of things.” – Katie W.
Thanks for sharing your story, Katie, and we wish you luck in the years ahead!
