Two decades ago, Elaine Taylor-Klaus describes herself as an overwhelmed, anxious stay-at-home mom with three complex kids. A fierce advocate, she discovered there was plenty of support “out there” for her kids, but virtually nothing in the way of support for her. As her own learning and attention challenges were diagnosed after age 40, she realized that helping her family needed to start with her.
In this interview, Elaine explains how she met that challenge, not only for herself, but for parents all over he world.

ZORAIDA RODRIGUEZ TORRES
Good day to you Elaine,
Congratulations for your many successful accomplishments and my appreciation for becoming the voice of millions of parents around the world. You are truly correct that the parents of children with ADHD also need support. I,also, am a parent of complex kids who are presently in college. My oldest daughter is about to become a gynecologist and is in her 4th year in medical school and my son is completing a BS in Public Health about to graduate in three weeks My son is presently applying to Graduate School to obtain a Master’s Degree in Public Health.
Just like you, I have been an active advocate for my children throughout their lives. Thanks to so many supporters, they have been successful in obtaining the college education of their dreams. Without all the sacrifices and great efforts, their dreams would have not become reality.
I reach out to you to kindly request your guidance about scholarships or grants for students with disabilities in higher education. We are a very modest family with very low income. My son is a students at the University at Buffalo in New York and my daughter is a student at Loyola Chicago, Stritch School of Medicine. Your guidance
would be greatly appreciated.
The best of luck throughout your endeavors. I wish you many blessings to you and your family.
