Monica Drinane

Retired former Supervising Judge of Bronx Family Court. Appointed to the bench in 2004 and was the supervising judge in Bronx Family Court from 2009 until 2014. She is a graduate of St. John’s University, she received her master’s degree from Fordham University, and her law degree from New York University School of Law. Prior to becoming a judge, she had spent her entire legal career with the Legal Aid Society for nearly 23 years, where she last served as Attorney-in-Charge of the Juvenile Rights Division.  Currently the co-chair of the NYC Children’s Cabinet Advisory Board and a member of the Mayor’s Task Force on School Climate, which is working with the Department of Education and the Police Force on developing alternatives to school suspensions and models of restorative justice.
