Gift planning is a forward-thinking choice for people of all ages and means. Choosing the right type of gift depends on your personal circumstances and financial goals. We welcome the opportunity to work with you and your legal advisor or tax professional to create a plan that fits your needs and expresses your legacy.
1. Naming Edge Foundation in your will
Your will affirms, honors, and protects what matters most to you. Through a specific bequest, you can name a particular dollar amount, or through a residuary bequest, you can give all or part of what is remaining after payment of debts, expenses, and specific bequests. If you would like to make such a gift to Edge Foundation, your attorney may wish to include language similar to the following:
“I give, devise, and bequeath to Edge Foundation, now or formerly at _____(address) a gift of ($_____ or _____ percent of the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate), to be used for its general purposes.”
2. Income for Life
There are other planned giving options that can provide you with payments for the rest of your life, with the remaining funds passing to Edge Foundation at the time of your death. These gift options include charitable gift annuities, charitable remainder trusts, and pooled income fund donations. To learn more about how these options can benefit you, please contact us at [email protected] or 888.718.8886.
3. Other Ways to Give
You might also consider naming Edge Foundation as a beneficiary in your retirement plan, insurance policy, or bank and investment accounts. Depending on the plan, Edge Foundation can be named as a full, partial, or contingent beneficiary.
You will need the following information:
- Legal Name:
Edge Foundation - Address:
2017 Fairview Avenue East, Suite I
Seattle, WA 98102 - Employer Identification Number (EIN):
35-2262709
4. Use your IRA to Give Back
If you’re over the age of 73, the IRS may require you to take annual distributions (withdrawals) from your retirement accounts, such as your IRA —a provision known as the required minimum distribution (RMD).
Up to a certain amount, these distributions may be made tax-free when directed to a qualified 501(c)(3) organization, such as Edge Foundation.
