Lee Kanon Alpert is an award-winning attorney, arbitrator and mediator with more than 40 years of legal experience. His primary practice areas of law are lobbying, business and corporate law, hospital and medical law, administrative and governmental relations (lobbying at a local, state and national level), arbitration and mediation, cable television franchising law, commercial, construction and real estate transactions. He is the founding member of Alpert Barr & Grant, PLC and is the founding member, President and CEO of Alpert Dispute Resolution and Consulting, Inc. AB&G is a well-respected and award winning law firm and ADRC is a well-respected firm that handles arbitrations, mediations, consulting and strategic planning activities.
Among other activities, Mr. Alpert is a past President of the Los Angeles County Commission on Judicial Procedures (overseeing the Los Angeles County court system), Past President of the City of Los Angeles Department of Water and Power Board of Commissioners (the largest municipal water and power entity in the country), Past President of the City of Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety Commission, the City of Los Angeles Commission overseeing the Department of Neighborhood Councils and a past member of the City of Los Angeles Airport Commission. He has also Chaired the governing advisory Commission for the speaker of the California State Assembly and the governing advisory Commission for the Leader of the California State Senate.
Lee is the founder and Chair Emeritus and current active board member of Genesis L.A., which raises private and public funding to assist in the development of blighted urban areas, now in its 21st successful year. Mr. Alpert also serves on the advisory board of governors for the Valley Industry and Commerce Association and the advisory boards of both the Valley Industry & Commerce Association and The Valley Economic Alliance as well as numerous other philanthropic and community organizations.
A native of Detroit, Michigan, Mr. Alpert attended Wayne State University, received a full scholarship his junior year and received his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Southern California. He then went on to receive his Juris Doctor from Loyola University School of Law. He received his Certification at the Graduate School of Business Executive Program Not-for-Profit Leadership and Management from Harvard University.
Lee is married with two adult sons, one of whom is the Associate Dean of the Graduate School of Business at William & Mary, in Virginia and the other a proud Sergeant II in the Los Angeles Police Department. He is the proud grandfather or two young grandsons.
