Dominic Cipollone, M.S., is a trained coach, an educator, and instructional leader with more than thirty years of experience in the NYC Department of Education. He strengths lie in school turnaround as he led his school to being designated as a school in good standing.  He has coached teachers and assistant principals to support their transitions into instructional leadership.  He led the team that developed a full service community school providing students with continuous SEL support and a fully operational multi-million-dollar health clinic offering mental and physical health services to his students.

Through his work in school transformation, while the principal of a middle school in the poorest congressional district in the United States. he has implemented targeted instruction using personalized student data supporting Common Core Learning Standards leading to the doubling of ELA scores.  Math scores tripled using a research based approach to the teaching of mathematics, His work in attendance improvement raised attendance percentages by nearly ten points.  His school was named a model school for attendance improvement.  He developed a family engagement center providing resources and workshops to help families navigate the myriad of programs NYC has to offer.  These initiatives in academic and non-academic areas led to his school being designated as a School in Good Standing.  He also spent thirteen years as a teacher, staff developer, testing coordinator, and grant writer in an urban elementary school.

He has been married to his beautiful bride, Iowa, for twenty years and is the father of three wise children, Isabella, Francesco and Madison.  He resides in New Fairfield, Connecticut.  He is the Vice-Chair of his School Board and an advocate for the needs of children with multiple complex disabilities.  He is an avid hiker and lover of the arts.
